Go west

La película "Más allá de las montañas" comienza y termina con  esta canción que invita insistentemente a marchar hacia el oeste. La música es tan pegadiza que, incluso los hinchas futboleros, la han adaptado y adoptado para animar a sus clubes. Sin embargo, todavía me llama más la atención la iconografía del videoclip que interpretan sus autores, los Pet Shop Boys: la imagen de Lenin, el monumento al Sputnik y  las marchas de atléticos gimnastas en formación portando banderas y mirando siempre hacia el oeste: la tierra prometida alejada de los rojos colores revolucionarios. El oeste, donde la vida es pacífica y los cielos azules. 
En aquel tiempo, cuando escuché la canción, para mi el oeste era San Francisco, Yosemite, Hollywood, el Gran Cañón, California, ... donde juntos acabábamos de marchar hacia allí a descubrirlo y a disfrutarlo.
